A short, easy walk along the Nandaly track to reach the top of the 150m high Falls, then a bit further along the track we veer off onto an offtrack path through sedge grass until we arrive at the 'Bumcrack' which is a curious slit in the rhyolite rock, fed by a permanent trickle. Nice place to boil a billy of tea before pushing on through the sedge grass to the hangliding launch pad that overlooks the Mainarm valley. We return the same way, taking in a pool on the creek. About 4-5 kms all up on a flat path. This is an easy day after last week's Koonyum Traverse.
