Overnight Beginners Hike 2-3 March

This is your chance to be guided into the joys of hiking off into our local rainforest wilderness and camping next to a pristine stream with everything you need weighing no more than 12kgs.

On Saturday morning we meet in Wilsons Creek and check through our packs together to make sure we haven't packed any unnecesary weight. Then it's a short hike into the Doon Doon saddle where we set up camp for the night .Then we hike about an hour up the Mt Jerusalem track to collect waater for the night at Thunderegg Rd, returning via the Flying Fox Lookout with it's expansive views over Wollumbin and the Tweed Valley. Sunday is a full day's walk along the western end of the Nightcap Track, descending  into the head of Wanganui Gorge.

It's best if you have been to the previous equipment info night on 22 Feb because you wil get first pick of renting the Club's lightweight packs, tents, air matts or sleeping bags.
