We will follow the high tide up from Brunswick Heads and then through Tyagarah Nature Reserve. The water is generally crystal clear at high tide, and you may find stingrays and fish are easy to spot, while birdlife abounds.
We will explore a side branch on the way to get up close to mangroves and wildlife, then lunch on a large sandy bank at the halfway point. From there we can continue south - a 3 hour paddle from Brunswick will bring us to Tyagarah airstrip - or we can return to Brunswick Heads after lunch, judging by participants willingness or otherwise.
Life jackets are ideal but not essential as it is a small protected coastal estuary. Must be able to swim well.
Bring lunch, water, hat, sunscreen and mozzie repellent (just in case).
