We hike through low rainforest for an hour as we climb to the Koonyum Gap. We collect water for our overnight camp about halfway to the "656" lookout with its panoramic views over Mullum and beyond the Tweed to the north. On Sunday we hike along the ridgeline of the West Koonyum Range until we are above the Rockslide and the Blue Lagoon. We then zig zag safely between the cliffs to return to the rainforest and the Lagoon below.
