We will hike from Clarrie Hall Dam back to Wilsons Creek via a ridge running south. We will divert to a number interesting features like the special Nundah Rocks, east down to Rolands Creek, up Clypot Rd and then past Hell Hole Falls to camp near the new mulit-day camp site. This trail has been completed up to Rockface Rd with over 150 sandstone steps that have been helicoptered in to gaps in the forest. After we climb to Rockface Rd our path descends into the Rockslide that many members have visited in the headwater of the Wilsons River. Then it is an exciting scramble up to the Koonyum ridge that overlooks MainArm. The route follows this ridge until we get to the eastern-most peak, "656" with its views over the whole Tweed Valley. Our second camp is on a small creek on the way down to the Koonyum Gap. On day 3 we cross the Gap and scramble up to the end of Koonyum Range Rd and take an off-track route past the 'Bum Crack', along Nandaly Rd, out to the 'Picnic Ponit' that looks across Upper Wilsons to Blackbut Plateau, before going along under the cliff line that leads to Callicoma Track. We stop at the top of the Caliicoma waterfall before dropping through the rain forest to finish at a property in Wilsons Creek.
Grade 3 with a couple of steep off-track sections. Leader Steve 0414 312 917, Assistant leader Lauren freerangechange@gmail.com
