This Sunday morning walk is to take the overflow from our International Womens Week walk which is on March 1 and was very quickly booked out. The International Womens Week walk was advertised by Buskwalking NSW as a promotion to attract new hikers to our Club so they could expand their hiking options. We have created this same hike for our members and guests.
We will drive up Koonyum Range Rd and then hike down Nandaly Rd to the cascade above the waterfall which plunges 200 metres down into Upper Wilsons Creek. There are panoramic views across the valley to the seldom-visited Blackbutt Plateau and into the headwater of the Wilsons River. We then take a path to an interesting water feature variously dubbed the 'bumcrack' or the vulva! We continue on the path until we join the very end of Koonyum Range Rd where there are sweeping views of Woolumbin, Mt Chowan and as far as the Tweed Valley.
Meeting at 8am at the start of Koonyum Range Rd.
Bring water, and lunch. Grade 3: Leader Steve 0414312917, assistant leader Diana 0408103542
