We hike up a steep off-track path for 160 vertical metres and then descend 60m to the top of the Wanganui waterfall. Along the way are expansive views down the Gorge. At the top of the waterfall there are panoramic vistas over Coopers Creek to Goonengerry National Park on the other side of the valley. At the top of the waterfall there are a number of 'spa pools' in the cascades above the falls. Great opportunity for a chilly dip. Bring snacks, lunch and a litre of water. I will email meet-up deets in Wilsons Creek on Friday evening. The forecast is for passing showers like all week. My policy is to get started despite the threat of showers. If it rains so that we are no longer having fun, we will turn back and head for home.
